Raman Shifter for Nd:YAG laser - case study:
Customer inquiry:
We have need of laser power in the 1310 -1330 nm range. Currently, we are
running our Nd:YAG lasers at the 1318 nm wavelength, but when we do
this we only get about 20% of the power we get when we run them at 1064 nm. I
was wondering if we might do better to run them at 1064 nm and
use your Raman shifter to move the wavelength to 1317 nm using your 901.5/cm
shifter. We also might be interested in shifting to 1494 nm for other uses.
What kind of powers can you shifter take without damage? Could you give a rough
price on one of your units?
Del Mar Photonics answer:
Our Raman Shifter has approximately same efficiency for conversion from 1064 to
1328nm. It is about 20%.
The max allowed pump intensity for 1064nm is 1.5J/cm2 at 10 nsec.
The max input beam dia is 12 mm.
